제조업(製造業, manufacturing)은 원재료를 인력이나 기계력 및 여러 다른 힘으로 가공하여 제품을 대량 생산 및 제공하는 산업이다. 광업·건설업과 함께 제2차 산업을 구성하는 일대 분야이다.
제조업은 원재료를 가공·조립하여 제품을 생산하기 위해 원재료비 외에도 공장이나 가공 조립 기계 등의 설비 투자비, 신기술 등에의 연구 개발비 등 어느 정도의 자본 투하를 필요로 한다.
제조업은 제3차 산업과 달리, 제품이 '보인다'. 가정 전기 제품이나 자동차 등 소비자가 잘 볼 수 있는 제품의 제조 업체(메이커) 브랜드는 일반에게 있어서 인지도가 높다.
